About Living Fire

Let me share with you a personal story, to tell you about how Living Fire came into existence.
As I am writing this now, in early 2026, it is 14 years ago that I was launched into a turbulent spiritual awakening, that by that time had been repressed by medication for over five years. This caused it to be a profoundly challenging and confusing period. Yet, while it was in many ways destructive and painful, it wouldn't have been a spiritual awakening if it hadn't been also deeply inspiring, beautiful, positively life-changing and profoundly nourishing.
It must have been also very confusing to the people around me, who saw me rapidly transform into a new person, saw me work through problems at dazzling lightspeed and at times probably thought I was going completely crazy. Because in a way, I was...
Yet at the very core, I wasn't.
What was crazy, (sometimes violently) disruptive and going too far in this early period of my awakening, was the speed at which it was taking place, the lack of wisdom I could at that point consciously access and the chaos it brought to my environment by the many mistakes I was making at a horrifying pace, even though I was learning from that just as quickly.
When the storm finally started calming down after several months of bouncing back and forth between mayhem and exaltation, it gradually became clear to me that I had discovered a couple of valuable spiritual treasures in the process.
In my daily life, I started to explore the possibilities these treasures brought. And it didn't take long before I understood how revolutionary they were for me personally. However, it would take me many years afterwards to realise how revolutionary they could be for other people as well. Somehow I just couldn't believe that there weren't other people with similar insights.
And I was right: a prayer for a teacher who could guide me in my process to understand the insights I had received during my awakening led me to a small spiritual school, just outside of Amsterdam, in the picturesque tiny village of Ilpendam. The master there, called Ajīta, happened to teach Raja Yoga techniques and philosophy in ways that were very close to some of the insights I had had, and by that time had been enriching my life for some two years. He became my master for the 6.5 years to come.
But on another level, I was also wrong: outside of Ajīta's nucleus of students, I never met anyone or encountered any tradition who seemed to be familiar with all the insights I was given during the awakening. And it also became painfully clear to me, that Ajīta was unable to understand some of my insights completely. Nonetheless, I am eternally grateful to him for his teachings and guidance.
Now, years after my training with him, my initial insights have entirely merged with what I have learned from him — along with the teachings of Alice Bailey & Tibetan Master Djwal Khul, which he & I both studied intensively — into a new and evolved form, which has become the foundation for the teachings of Living Fire.
They have become teachings of Energy Spirituality, that blend my direct insights about energy & (inter)spirituality, with Ajīta's insights about Raja Yoga & energy-based pranayama with the Seven Ray teachings about the basic energy patterns of existence.
These teachings are here to help enlighten a new generation of seekers after the True Nature of existence. They include much of what has been taught by earlier spiritual schools and traditions, yet are intended to take all their parts a few steps closer to their essence.
We, humans, have stepped into the 21st century, and with the commencing of the second quarter of this century it is time for a new wave of spiritual teachings and teachers. May our school's teachings play a valuable role in this new wave, which will naturally also include influences from past and newly arising teachings and teachers. And may all these influences be friendly and cooperative amongst each other wherever the Eternal Dharma deems it possible. For the more we manage to uphold the spirit of friendly cooperation, mutual respect and shared action, the more this new wave can come to full fruition.
May Living Fire help the Lights of the world multiply and increase their brightness smoothly and steadily and assist the Souls of the world in awakening to their True Nature! And may the wisdom, methods, and techniques I have accumulated over the past 14 years help you walk this path far more smoothly and with far less destruction than when my own awakening first began.
